Dariush was born in Tehran on February 4, 1951. His first entrée into the music world occurred in 1971, and the rest as they say, is history.

Dariush's passion and main objective has always been to be the voice of his people's sentiments and their plight. Looking back at the past 35 years, He sure picked a tough battle since not only He was persecuted and imprisoned for his beliefs and sociopolitical stand,He is still facing obstacles and impediments in this perpetual struggle .

Since forced migration out of Iran after the Islamic Revolution, He has been traveling the world, visiting his countrymen, voicing our hopes and heartfelt wishes for a better tomorrow for our precious Iran and our beloved countrymen.

Since the year 2000, He has expanded his activities by being the messenger of recovery for those suffering from substance abuse. As a member of Amnesty International, and through my radio and TV programs, He has been trying to bring awareness to Iranian communities all around the world, as well as to International Organizations regarding the social maladies widespread in Iran. Issues that are gradually destroying the future of my country and the well being of our youth.

He is certain that with the power of determination , a touch of awareness, mixed with the healing scent of love we will succeed to rebuild a brighter, more prosperous, free Iran.
