Anatomy Basics™ Vol. 2 Muscles Of The Upper Extremity (more than 70 recordings) is the second in this series of four apps (more than 350 recordings) created to help students master the basics of human anatomy.Originally developed as a study aid for graduate students in the allied healthcare fields, these apps provide a review of the human musculoskeletal anatomy that’s appropriate for a range of students, from medical school to high school-level Advanced Placement (AP) Anatomy and Physiology. Vol. 2 contains more than 70 audio recordings in English and color-coordinated text covering more than 40 muscles of the region and an additional 30 definitions such as anatomical position, eversion and more to help students master the basics of human anatomy. It takes the guesswork out of complex medical pronunciations and reinforces use of the words. This is particularly valuable to those without pre-medical background or for students for whom English is a second language (ESL students). Each of the audio recordings of the muscles includes a color-coordinated text review of the origin, insertion, main action(s) and innervation so students can spend their time mastering the information they need to be successful, not searching for it. Supplemental information has also been provided, when appropriate, for students studying at a graduate level, and the “Study Aid” section is filled with definitions that students will refer to again and again. It’s like having a tutor of musculoskeletal anatomy on call for you, day and night.Learning styles differ among students. The VAK learning style uses the three main sensory receivers: Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic (movement) to determine the dominant learning style. It is sometimes known as VAKT (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, & Tactile). With this in mind we understand that some students learn better with visual stimuli (typed words or images) (right side brain dominance), others learn better with auditory stimuli (spoken words) (left side brain dominance) and some learn better with kinesthetic or tactile learning methods (left or right side dominance). Anatomy Basics™ apps provide both auditory and visual stimuli to help meet the needs of both left and right brain dominant learners. As the diversity of our students increase, so to do the learning needs of our students. In a lecture hall you only hear the information once, with Anatomy Basics™ you’re in control.
