Alabsheer Show is Iraqi Friday and Monday nights Iraqi political comedy airing on YouTube, its own Facebook page “Albasheer show”. The half-hour long show premiered on August 30, 2014, and is hosted by Ahmed Albasheer. The show produced by “Horizon Light for TV production and Distribution”. “Albasheer show” focused on Iraqi politics and national media in the language of the streets of Iraq. It is the 1st Iraqi political comedy show.

The show typically opens with a long monologue by Ahmed Albasheer talking about recent Iraqi headlines and frequently features exchanges with one or more of several “correspondents”, who adopt absurd or humorously exaggerated takes on current events against Ahmed’s straight man persona. Sometimes these are very over the top but certainly fit with the “Arab style” of comedy. The final segment is devoted to summarize the episode than giving the underlying message.
