WHAT IS THE INTERNATIONAL RADIO ALPHABET?

Radio and telephone communication is often plagued by interference. In order to ensure the intelligibility of voice signals over radio links, the NATO alphabet, also known as the international radio telephony spelling alphabet, assigns code words to the letters of the alphabet (Alpha for A, Bravo for B, etc.). The use of this alphabet ensures that combinations of letters can be pronounced and understood by any and all who transmit or receive voice messages.
