The Android Shield ™ project is a public service initiative taken by Train of Thought (pvt) limited to help Pakistani mobile users fight against mobile phone snatching. The project is an outcome of Train of Thought's work in the area of mobile security solutions for enterprise.
WHY PAKISTAN?
Pakistan has one of the highest rates of mobile phone snatching in the world. As our mobile phones become a bigger part of our lives, we stand to lose way more than just our device in case of a snatching incident. SENDING MY PHONE INTO LOCK DOWN MODE
1. USING TEXT MESSAGING
The Android Shield provides users the option to completely lock their devices using SMS based triggers. This is an extremely useful feature especially when you are not near an internet connection or a PC. SIMPLY TEXT to YOUR OWN MOBILE NUMBER and the lock down mode will be triggered.
2. VIA DASHBOARD
Please use The Android Shield ™ control panel to trigger lock down mode and / or remotely control your Android device. Simply visit www.theandroidshield.com/login and enter your Android Shield username and password to log in. Click the lock phone / anti-theft button to send your phone into lock down mode.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Android Shield ™ is a full circle mobile phone security platform built for enterprise. With anti-theft, super secure data back up and military grade security for in-phone contents, The Android Shield ™ is a must have app for all Android users. The app is available in two versions: personal and enterprise. This is the personal edition which is free for all users.
KEY FEATURES OF THE ANDROID SHIELD ™ INCLUDE:
1. ANTI-THEFT. The app comes with the most comprehensive anti-theft and remote triggering system in the market:
A. Remotely enable lock down mode via SMS and web based dashboard.
B. Contents back up.
C. Distress call sent to predefined recipients along with location of handset.
D. Phone clean up / wiping clean all data.
2. MONITORING AND TRACKING. By login onto the dashboard, you can:
A. Track the phone’s location in real time.
B. View the travel pattern of the device from the point of triggering the anti-theft mode.
C. Activate the spy cam feature and taking pictures of the phones surroundings.
D. Eavesdrop on the sounds and conversations taking place in the phone's surroundings. This feature can help in identifying the whereabouts of the device along with gathering vital clues for identifying the snatcher. Multiple recordings can be made and heard right from your Android Shield Dashboard ™.
3. SUPER SECURE BACK-UPS AND RESTORATION FROM CLOUD SERVERS. Periodic and event driven contents back up facility so that you never lose your contacts, SMS and call logs. The enterprise edition also offers this facility for files.
4. REMOTE ACCESS AND CONTROL. You have full control over the device though a state-of-the-art dashboard and SMS triggers.
5. STATE OF THE ART DASHBOARDS FOR REAL TIME MONITORING AND CONTROL. The dashboard delivers an absolutely amazing user experience while putting you in total control of your device.
