Transfusion Bits and BytesThe British Columbia (BC) Provincial Blood Coordinating Office in collaboration with the BC Technical Resource Group has developed a series of transfusion related educational videos called Transfusion Bits and Bytes. Funding support was provided from the Canadian Blood Services BloodTechNet Learning Competition. Transfusion Bits and Bytes are intended for general Medical Laboratory Technologists working in Transfusion Medicine Services. There are 6 educational videos varying in length between 15 to 30 minutes and can be individually downloaded from the free app. Content slides from the videos are a part of the app and can serve as a quick reference tool. The 6 videos cover the following transfusion medicine laboratory topics: 1. Transfusion Reaction Overview2. Acute Transfusion Reactions3. Case Studies of Acute Transfusion Reactions4. Delayed Transfusion Reactions & Case Studies5. Quality Management Systems6.
