The BMW i Remote App conveniently links life on the go and life on the road. Using your smartphone, you can control your all–electric BMW i3 remotely and see your vehicle location, range, current battery levels and charging information.

If you're connected to a charging station, you'll even be able to start or end a charging session or take advantage of Time of Use rates using the Charge Control feature. When available, these special rates offer lower energy costs depending on the time (usually overnight), which may vary by region and energy company.

You can also use the app to set preconditioning, which automatically ensures optimal battery conditions and a comfortable cabin temperature before your next journey even starts.

Additionally, the navigation function within the app shows nearby charging stations and favorite points of interest, with the option to send their locations directly to your vehicle.

Functions that can be performed with the BMW i Remote App include:

• Display of battery charge status and available vehicle range

• Start charging, stop charging or program charging based on departure times

• Locate charging stations and display them on a map

• Import favorite points of interest from your contact book and display them on a map

• Send address information, including charging stations and favorite points of interest, to the vehicle

• Access the Dynamic Range Map to check if locations can be reached based on charge status

• Remote Services for vehicle lock, headlight flasher, horn, or pre-conditioning of interior temperature

• Measure the efficiency of previous journeys and share with the BMW i community

• Check on vehicle condition and servicing requirements

The BMW i Remote App can be used exclusively by customers with a BMW i vehicle that have an active BMW Assist/BMW ConnectedDrive contract. After you have downloaded the app, you will need your personal access information provided in your BMW Assist contract provided to you by your dealership, in order to setup the app. If you are unsure of your username or password, please call BMW Assist toll-free 1-888-333-6118. Please be advised, it is not currently possible for US customers to login using your My BMW or ConnectedDrive Portal credentials.
