What happens when you find a really cool cloud powered camera that doesn't have an app for the coolest mobile platform? You make the app yourself!

While we all still wait for Dropcam to build an official Dropcam app, a few months back I built one for my wife and her WP7 device so she could keep an eye on our little boy when she was at work (night shift), later I updated it to Windows Phone 8, added a whole bunch of features, then made it work on both WP7 & WP8 devices!

What it does:

• Works on Windows Phone!

• Displays cameras that you own or are subscribed to (either public or shared)

• Shows new image from selected camera every 2.5 seconds

• Pin a camera to a Live Tile

• Works with Dropcam HD & Dropcam Pro cameras

What it doesn't do:

• Live or historical video (I'm still trying to find a way to support RTMPE)

• Audio

• Listing or selecting of Motion Events

• (These features *may* come in future)

Despite these minor limitations, what remains is something I use frequently, and that many beta testers were eager to use as well, so if you are a Dropcam user, this app is for you!

While this app is trusted by many to store & use credentials in a secure way, to further expand user privacy options v 1.1 introduces a feature where the app will not store credentials between app launches.

Other changes include:

• Settings support. Some now, more to come later. Note: Modifying settings is only available to camera owner.

• Pinned Live Tiles can now detect & report 'offline' or 'not streaming' status of camera.

• Misc bug fixes.

• Refactoring of various shared components for later porting to Windows 8.
