The background recorder, as the name suggests, is a widget for background recording and analysis of video, audio, sensor and location data.

Besides other use-cases the background recorder can be used as a dashcam app, while using the device for other purposes such as an mp3-player or navigator.

The background recorder is freely configurable, so it is on you to decide whether you want to simply record video, audio or enable sensor and location data tracking for later analysis.

The background recorder widget includes a track analysis tool which can be started from the configuration menu and provides graphs for all tracked sensor data as well as graphical illustration of the recorded location data on a google map.

- auto-record functionality (On power connected/disconnected)

- live camera preview during recording

Each recording will be saved in a subfolder under the folder "Black Box" on your device's sdcard.
