 The Basilica of San Lorenzo is the oldest church in Florence. Founded in 393 and rebuilt in the eleventh century, the last period in which it underwent construction, it was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi. It is one of the first and clearest formulations of the architecture of Renaissance Florence.
