Well congratulations, you are now a student and as a student, you can how to establish friendships and be socially relatable with children and adults while at school. However though, social expectations and friendships can often be a stress trigger to some teenagers, especially to those that do face social problems. There are very common ones like peer pressure, cliques, and bullying.
Being a Student
One student affecting another student's decisions is commonly known as peer pressure. There have been numerous commercials and PSAs done about this. Even tackled in some television programming. Though there are sometimes peer pressure could be positive, like say regarding your friend of the homework you were assigned or convincing your friend to join on one the sports teams or school clubs and extra curricular activity. You yourself are most likely familiar with the other half of peer pressure that shows how bad it can be from one student being pressured by another to consume alcohol, smoke cigarettes, go shoplifting, cheat on an exam, or even cut class one day. You might find it hard and stressful to resist this.
A clique is a certain group of students that reject other students and they often have codes of attitude, such as dressing the same or playing a specific sport together. They often insult and/or bully outsiders and you might find it harmful and stressful if you decide to become a member of a clique yourself as they tend to discourage members from hanging out with anyone outside the clique. Clique members are also required to act more like the clique to fit in with the group.
We all know bullying it. It isn't pretty to see one student pick on another frequently at school because they are more influential then the one they are picking on. It can even be a matter of looking different or being different. People of different sexual orientation, race, religion, and/or gender are often bullying victims. There is the more physical route bullies often take but the abuse can also be verbal via teasing and taunting.
There are ways of getting help inside the the school if you are suffering from these or any other social problem and remember that you're not the only one experiencing these situation types. Your parents, teachers, or even your guidance counselor are there to help you if you're a victim of bullying or succumbing to peer pressure.
Everything will be fine and this is all just a challenge in your life right now. No on should ever be afraid to build friendships with anyone. Be with your most trusted friends and have fun with them, whenever its participating in an activity or simply just going to get a bite to eat together.
You could benefit from taking some time for yourself and discover any talents that could help you out a lot in enhancing how you feel as it can let you love and appreciate yourself. Everyone has their own special talent and when someone asks you about your talent, how are you going to answer them? Right now is the best time to go out and discover what your talent is and be able to correctly answer that question.
Exploring your family history is a good way to go and discover. See what talents your current family members or ancestors like they singing, dancing, or art. Children often inherit their mother or father's appearance but they can also inherit the talents of their parents as they tend to run in the family and knowing that can send your life in a whole different path than you thought it would go. You can recall things as a kid that you liked most and where you are good at them. That stage of life is where someone has various activities exposed to them or class subjects that require them to have a special skill or talent.
