These tracks and are meant largely for relaxation. In order to hear the tracks properly headphones must be worn...and here is why:

While listening to binaural beating the brain perceives low-frequency pulsations (Binaural Beating) when two tones at slightly different frequencies are played separately, one in each ear, using stereo headphones.

The difference between the two frequencies must be small (less than or equal to 30 Hz) for the effect to occur; otherwise, the two tones will be heard separately, and no beat will be perceived.
