How to Play

Blackjack with Comrades is similar to traditional Blackjack, also known as 21. In Blackjack, the point of the game is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. If you beat the dealer's hand, you win! It's that simple.

The main difference is that instead of just going back and forth with a dealer, winning chips, losing chips, winning more chips, losing more chips...blah blah blah...BORING...in Blackjack with Comrades, you are actually competing against your opponents.

Every hit you take, every move you make, they'll be watching you. So you better bring your A+++ game!!!

Blackjack with Comrades also introduces some unique gameplay elements to the traditional game of Blackjack...like powerups. Double down on 11 only to get a dinky little 4...BOOM...hit em' with a 'New Card' powerup and replace that 4 with the next card in the deck.

Use your powerups wisely and bet like a boss, and you'll reign victorious over your meager foes. But, bet like an idiot and use your 'New Card' powerup because you wanted a pretty diamond instead of an ugly spade...and you'll be in the dog house.

Basic Strategy

You can bet like a boss and use your powerup like Harry Houdini but you better know basic strategy if you want to win at this game.

In Blackjack there are only a finite number of hand combinations/matchups which you can encounter during the course of a game. For this reason, it's a good idea to implement something known as basic strategy which is the strategy by which various actions which can be followed based on the Player's Hand and the Dealer's Up Card.

Basic strategy can change based on the rules of the Blackjack game - the number of decks being used, whether the dealer hits or stand on soft 17, etc. But from hand to hand within a game, basic strategy remains the same i.e. it does not take into account the possibility of changing odds based on the cards that have been already played. For Blackjack with Comrades we use the following rules:

♠ A single deck of 52 cards shuffled each round

♦ The dealer stands on soft 17

♣ Doubles are not allowed after splits

♥ Blackjack pays 3 to 2
