ACTIVE CITY The first iPhone application to keep fit with a slow physical exercise (urban trekking, fast walking, slow running).The change is progressive and it is the transition from the gym to the "do-it-tech" wellbeing. Active City is a project to make people aware of the global recommendations on physical activity for a better health published by the World Health Organization; a way to subvert the traditional sports values of rivalry, performance and exclusion. It is instead targeted to promote physical exercise and its regularity, a better health, the social inclusion and male and female equality.Active City in the Italian historic centres is an application for those who own an iPhone and want to go out for some urban trekking or a quick walk, or a slow running in the historic centre of the city where they live, or in other Italian cities, thus combining the control of the level of fitness through their iPhone to the opportunity of easily following an itinerary of several kilometres without having to study the paths on their own. The routes are circular and they are called "Muovi CITTÀ" (Muovi MO – make Modena move, Muovi BO – make Bologna move, Muovi VE –make Venice move, ...). BOLOGNABologna is the Main City of the province and of the Emilia Romagna District Area. It is situated between the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine and the heart of the Po’ Valley.It is a crossover between North and South, East and West.It is an art, cultural and trade centre with some efficient Exhibition Grounds and a renowned manufacturing and motor tradition. Bologna is well known for its nearly 40 km. of porticos, the longest in the world.MUOVI.BOMuoviBO is a project by the Costruire in Project that you can download and try virtually on your iPhone or practically by coming to Bologna. MuoviBO is to follow a 11,85 kilometer-long path, planned for the historic center (among these 10 kilometres are under arcades).MuoviBO is an iPhone application that differs from those in the network (Runtastic, etc ...) because it does not summarize the physical exercise done, but it tells you first where and how to do slow physical exercise to achieve a Good Health Result, and then it monitors its execution.The first non-satellite photographic navigator carried out like a pack of playing cards including pictures of the route. This builds up a track several kilometers long which follows a pre-definite path that combines the slow physical exercise with the discovery of works of art, landscapes, less known historic places where residents live. This is the first tourist oriented game whereby tourists have to find their bearings and it is for those residents who want to stay healthy with fast walking or slow running at the right speed. On the track you can do some slow physical exercise effective for your good health, through fast walking and slow running or urban trekking. You can start from the first card of the pack (start card)or from any point on the path. The goal of the project is to turn the historic centre into a sort of open-air gym for everyone, at all times of the day and throughout the year. But be careful! You can do urban trekking and fast walking at any time, whereas slow running should be done during the early morning, late in the evening, or during your lunch break to avoid the traffic of pedestrians, merchants and tourists. MuoviBO also allows you to plan a Slow Sporting Event. It is a kind of inverted fast walking or slow running race whereby participants do not start all at once (and the one who comes first wins) but, on the contrary, they start at different times, divided in groups with the same space speed, but they arrive all together.Start and follow the blue track drawn on the urban pictures.
