Most of us know on one level or another, that Boston is a literary city. But if pressed, we can only point vaguely to the number of colleges or something similarly inane. The goal in this app was, and is, to uncover all of the rich literary history of Massachusetts in a very specific way. Where are these places? Why are they worth your visit? (No "George Washington Slept Here" vagueness allowed). What should you see if you only have a limited amount of time to spend here? (A cemetery in downtown Boston, for example, that has 25 famous authors buried there, is perhaps more worth your time than driving to western MA to see a minor author's homestead, if you only have one afternoon). I hope that your purchase of this app will feel like the most worthwhile couple of dollars you've ever spent.

★ About the Author ★

An English literature major at Westminster College in PA, who was later licensed as an English teacher in the state of MA, Rob looks at literature from a much deeper level than that "icing on the cake". Started reading books with a kid-version of 20K Leagues Under The Sea at about age 8. Routinely missed 'reading groups' in elementary school because I was so engrossed in reading. Moved to MA in 1994 and have been chasing these literary ghosts ever since.

I also worked at a major chain bookstore for 7 years. Until it went out of business. (Oops!) I would hope that rounded off some of my snobby edges, but I'm not sure.
