PURPOSE: The CFI Tools Nearest App is used to get Bearing and Distance to Airports and NAVAIDs

Simple but very useful tool

Any pilot that works with a GPS knows how useful the Nearest button is. And it is easy to use. It is designed to be simple and that makes it easy to use with one hand.

Nearest Preferences

---------------------------

The 100 Nearest Airports and NAVAIDs to the GPS position are displayed by default. You also have the option to display the list based on nearest to a selected Airport or NAVAID.

You can filter points in or out based on type. There are four defined types: Airport, VOR, NDB and Other.

The Bearing can be displayed as either To or From

The current Latitude and Longitude or selected Station name are displayed at the top of the list.

GPS Status

Some GPS status information including connected satellites are displayed on the GPS Information screen.

This information can be used to determine the best location for GPS reception.

The location database contained in Nearest has over 10,000 airports around the world. NAVAIDs are only in the US..
