CSI-2014, the Golden Jubilee year of the Computer Society of India (CSI) and the 49th Annual Convention is being organized as a part of CSI@50, by CSI Hyderabad Chapter, in association with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad JNTUH and Defense Research Development Organization DRDO to bring together Researchers, Engineers, Developers, and Practitioners.

The seed for the CSI was first shown in the year 1965 at Hyderabad with a handful of IT enthusiasts who were a computer user group and felt the need to organize their activities. They also wanted to share their knowledge and exchange ideas on what they felt was a fast emerging sector. Today the CSI takes pride in being the largest and most professionally managed association of and for IT professionals in India. The purposes of the Society are scientific and educational directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science and IT. The organization has grown to an enviable size of 100,000 strong members consisting of students and professionals with varied backgrounds including Software developers, Scientists, Academicians, Project Managers, CIO's , CTO's & IT vendors to just name a few. It has spread its branches all over the country. Currently having more than 500 student branches and rooted firmly at 73 different locations known as CSI Chapters, CSI has plans of opening many more chapters & activity centers in smaller towns and cities of the country. The idea is to spread the knowledge, and provide opportunities to as many interested as possible.

Following the big successes of previous conventions, CSI, Hyderabad Chapter is set to conduct this Annual Convention during the Golden Jubilee period at Hyderabad its birthplace.. CSI-2014 will serve as a forum for discussions on the state-of-the-art research, development and implementations of ICT applications for bridging future.

The progress and growth of any country depends on how to make the lives of its people comfortable and to steer them for a better lifestyle and better living conditions. ICT had become an integral part of governance and the small footprint of the country with great population density makes the implementation of ICT at every walk of life a necessity. ICT is the means to bridge the future of the country with the legacy of the past. CSI in its journey of 50 years witnessed all the changes in the growth of the country, and decided to select Emerging ICT for Bridging Future to consolidate the ideas of all partners involved to achieve the goal.

As we cater the needs of a large section of Student community, we are conducting a 2 day National Student Convention at Gurunanak Group of Institutions, Ibrahimpatnam, Hyderabad to make the student community glide through Campus to Corporate and Beyond on thw 10th and 11th of December 2014.
