CarGuard is a two-application, two-phone car anti-theft system:

1. CarGuard is installed on a phone hidden in your car

2. CarGuardControl is an application you install on your other phone for control purposes

This application's aim is to track your car when desired and raise an alarm upon its movement.

Install this application on a phone that is going to be hidden in your car.

When movement is detected via accelerometer (after Acc alarm on command was sent to CarGuard):

1. GPS tracking is enabled automatically

2. phone with CarKeeperGuard installed is dialled

3. CarGuardControl is sent SMS message with GPS tracking update (single, for next messages please use Get status command)

All the CarGuard application needs for proper functioning:

1. enabled GPS (but GPS is locked only when desired or upon movement detection)

2. accelerometer - for detecting movement

3. valid and registered sim card - to receive and send SMS messages to and from CarGuardControl and calling a phone with CarKeeperControl to raise the alarm

CarGuard is designed with battery life in mind. It detects car movement using accelerometer readouts, which is far more optimal than constant GPS lock. Upon detection, GPS lock is obtained and the phone that CarKeeperControl is installed on is called.

For battery life optimization make sure you:

1. disable data transfer

2. dim screen brightness to 0%

3. set screen sleep to as little time as possible

4. disable wireless card, bluetooth and any other features that might be draining the battery

5. uninstall all unnecessary applications

For security reasons make sure you:

1. mute all sounds

2. set pin lock screen

FOR SAFETY OF YOUR CAR: Please hide the phone with CarGuard installed in not an obvious place in your car!
