Download and install now CellularOne's new emergency alert system app and you will be notified of adverse weather conditions, extreme & severe imminent threat warnings, forest fire warnings, Amber alerts, and Presidential alerts. CMAS is a wireless version of the Emergency Broadcast System.

Who sends CMAS alerts?

Most are sent by the National Weather Service. Some alerts such as Amber alerts are prompted by local law enforcment.

Do I have to have a smartphone to use the CMAS app?

Yes. Currently CMAS is only available to CellularOne smartphone users.

What type of alerts will be made available to the public through CMAS?

Adverse weather conditions, extreme & severe imminent threat warnings, forest fire warnings, Amber alerts, and Presidential alerts.

Will wireless customers be charged for CMAS/WEA alerts?

Wireless customers will not be charged for the receipt of CMAS messages.

Will CMAS track a person’s location?

No, CMAS will not track an individual’s locations or personal data. This assures that authorities cannot collect any subscriber-related data.
