Even now not every EDM has on-board software to perform such a simple task as setting out circle/arc. Sometimes it is sold separately and cost well above £100. Here is simple and cheap alternative to it, but it does same job. Take measurement from your target/surface in prism or non-prism mode, enter received (x,y) coordinates in [Ex] and [Nx] fields and this little app will tell you how far and which way to move your mini-prism/target - inside (towards circle centre point) or outside (away from centre point). Unlike EDM's on-board software you can use it to check position of any point with known coordinates in relation to your circle/arc, and unlike CAD programs it is always in your pocket and it doesn't cost a fortune.

Circle App works with Units in Decimal Format.
