CryptoFile uses the 256 bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm to store Secret Data in an Encrypted Local File. For example, you can store user names, passwords, PIN numbers etc.

A Password of minimum 8 characters is required. Cryptographic salt is used to create a strong Password for the AES algorithm. Without the correct Password nobody can open the File, including Yourself. If you forget the Password you can CLEAR the app data and restart. All data will be lost in this case. Do not CLEAR the app data unless you forget your Password, or you want to Reset the File.

There are two possible display functions: VIEW and EDIT. The VIEW function is used to quickly browse the file content. The Edit function provides a plain text editor window, where one can enter new information into the file. The HTML tags are automatically removed. However, in order to organize the content one can use a simple text formatting syntax using square and curly brackets:

BACKUP and RESTORE functions are provided to facilitate the migration of the Encrypted File to another device. The BACKUP function will save the Encrypted File into the root of the device storage as CryptoFileBackup.txt. This file can be moved into the root storage of another device, and then use RESTORE to load it into the local

storage of the other device.
