DNABolt works to prevent unauthorized access to applications and services ordinarily protected by usernames and passwords. A common security breach, for example, occurs in the case of compromised user account information, which is subsequently used for unauthorized transactions, impersonation or fraud. This is a serious security threat and often an underestimated concern for many organizations. This threat is potentially the worst security threat to leave unchecked since, done correctly, an attacker can perform attacks over time, leaving virtually no trace, and potentially indicating someone else as the perpetrator of the crime.

The DNABolt software authentication system works to mitigate this scenario by pairing the username and password already existing in the product or service with the device being used to conduct authentication or transactions. A user thus becomes associated with the device. In order for an unauthorized user to take advantage of the protected account, the unauthorized user would have to attempt access from the protected user’s machine. By its nature then, someone in a remote location could not make use of a DNABolt protected account.

At its most basic level, DNABolt captures and creates a hardware-level snapshot of the device being used to access a particular website or application and generates a hash which is stored on an authentication server. That hash is paired with the standard username and password created and maintained by the application. If the hash does not match on subsequent login attempts, access is denied, otherwise it is granted. What sounds simple obviously isn’t, but we at DNABolt have distilled the complexities down such that, to the user, it is as simple and transparent as a logon.

To access your account from this App, first you have to activate the DNABolt in your account using your computer.

1. Download and Install the DNABolt Plugin at download page ( http://digitallymade.yourhosting.com/dnademo/download )

2. Restart your browser after the plugin installation.

3. Access the download page again to check if the plugin is installed and working.

4. Click Home at top menu.

5. Log In into your DNABolt account.

6. Click DNABolt at top menu and choose Enroll Device.

7. Enroll the request to register your computer.

Steps to register a new device ( in this case your iOS device )

1. Click DNABolt at top menu and choose Manage Devices.

2. Click the Add a new device button. This will open a new request to register a new device.

3. Open the DNAbolt iOS App and Log In into your DNABolt account.

4. Send the request to register your device.

5. Back to your computer, refresh the Manage Devices page.

6. Now you have to enable the new device you registered. Click the Enable button besides the device name.

7. Log In again on your device. This time your device will also be authenticated. No other devices or computers that are not registered will access your account.

IMPORTANT:

You have to do the steps 5 and 6 to enable your new device using your computer or you will not be able to log in into your account using the new device.
