DOFCompute Free is a simple single-screen depth of field calculator. Subject distance, fStop, and focal length may be entered by slider or keyboard. Subject distance may be entered in either English or Metric. Conversion between English and Metric for subject distance and DOF is immediate, at the press of a button.Hyperfocal distance, focal distance range, magnification, and width and height of focal field at the focal distance are computed along with DOF.A pop-up calculator is provided to assist with manual calculations.This free version differs from the paid version in one respect: The paid version will not only compute depth-of-field, it will also solve for subject distance, fStop, or focal length from the depth of field as an input value. Hence you can “request” a DOF of 3 inches and observe the lens and distance characteristics that you need to achieve this.
