The Ventus 1 application for Android allows users to receive data from the Downrange Systems Ventus RT system or a Bluetooth enabled Kestrel device. Downrange Systems has strived to create a simplified user interface that should fit most users needs.

• Receive pertinent information on one simplified screen

• User selectable refresh rate

• User selectable data unit display (application converts units no matter the Kestrel weather meters setting)

• Wind compass on screen displays the wind flow direction (compass arrow point into the direction the wind is blowing toward, numerical display data depicts direction the wind is coming from)

• Maintains last connected device in memory allowing quick connection to Kestrel or Downrange Systems Ventus RT

Supported Devices:
 Kestrel 4000 Series devices (must be Bluetooth enable if using Kestrel without Ventus RT System) with firmware Iss 4.53 or later. Android Phone or Tablet 2.2 or later.

The Kestrel firmware must be at least 4.53. Unfortunately Kestrels with firmware 4.29 and below cannot be upgraded to the proper firmware version to work with this program. Please contact Nielsen-Kellerman for information on their Loyalty Discount program where you can trade in your Kestrel for a discount toward the purchase of a new Kestrel.

Ventus 1 for Android is under continuous development. In order to improve the Ventus 1 application, please report bugs and or suggested enhancements.
