The National Weather Service Area Forecast Discussions, or AFD, contain the local office forecaster's thoughts, reasoning, and uncertainty factors considered during the creation of the current forecast. They represent the "Story behind the weather story," a glimpse behind the scenes of your current forecast, and provide lots of detail not found anywhere else.
