The project envisages a set of innovative actions and the creation of a joint partnership for the preservation of local resources through the promotion of cultural tourism. The implementation of the project will conclude to the creation of a single cross-border cultural tourism destination and a complete strategy for the preservation, management and promotion of the natural resources of the Cross-border Area.

The SMARTCUl2RE project is focused in areas with rich cultural heritage, including two UNESCO sites (Corfu and Gjirokastra) and aims at the development of cultural tourism, setting as primary priority the protection, the effective management and the promotion of these areas with principles of sustainable development.

This project is co-funded by the European Union and by National Funds of Greece and Albania under the IPA Cross border programme “Greece-Albania 2007-2013”.
