Optimised for iPhone5 and iPad3 with retina screen, DieselLamps is the new app designed by Foscarini for the Diesel Living with Foscarini lighting collection, and available on Apple Store and Play Store.Extremely simple, DieselLamps allows users to insert lamps in environments and settings caught on camera or pulled from an existing archive of pictures. How it works: following a very short (8”) introductory video, the camera activates with a transparent multi-touch screen and all the information required to use the app. From the main menu,which opens up immediately, the user can take a picture and choose the category of lamps to insert, selecting from table, floor, suspension, ceiling, and wall versions. Once the model has been selected, the user can play and modify it by simply touching the screen: the lamp can be moved to any point in the screen, enlarged or minimised, mirrored or turned 360 degrees and repositioned in the chosen setting. In the menu, a superimposed bar will appear, displaying technical details of the chosen lamp and a series of active links to more information and details. At the end, a window will allow users to swiftly share their creation by e-mail to their contacts or using the main social media. With Facebook, the contents can be shared using the hashtag with the name of the lamp and of the DieselLamps app; with Twitter the contents can be inserted into the main conversation topicsby mentioning "foscarinilamps”, whereas on Instagram users can play and share pictures modified though various available filters. The main purpose, as for any respectable app, is to fuel user generated content (UGC) on the web.
