With Expression & Sequence finder you can find the next term in a math sequence as well as generate a math expressions having a specific value for the specific parameters. The Expression & Sequence Finder may be used for finding analytic expressions of math sequences.

Examples of use ( math sequences and math expressions )

1 - From Test IQ.

Find the next number in the sequence 1, 2, 10, 37, 101.

The field Sequence must contain all items of sequence.

Sequence = 1 2 10 37 101

Algorithm = Find Next Number

Results:

a[i] = (i-1)*(i-1)*(i-1)+a[i-1]

.

i = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

a[1] = 1, a[2] = 2, a[3] = 10, a[4] = 37, a[5] = 101

2. Find the next number in the sequence 5 6 11 17 28 45.

The field Sequence must contain all items of sequence.

Sequence = 5 6 11 17 28 45

Algorithm = Find Next Number

Results:

a[i] = a[i-1]+a[i-2]

i = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

a[1] = 5, a[2] = 6, a[3] = 11, a[4] = 17, a[5] = 28, a[6] = 45

3 - From math puzzle

0 0 0 = 6

1 1 1 = 6

2 2 2 = 6

3 3 3 = 6

4 4 4 = 6

5 5 5 = 6

6 6 6 = 6

7 7 7 = 6

8 8 8 = 6

9 9 9 = 6

Target = 6

Operands = 0 или Operands = 0 0 0

Max. Num. Of Operands = 3

Functions: check Sqrt and Factorial

Algorithm = Find Expression

Results:

factorial(factorial(0) + factorial(0) + factorial(0)) = 6 or (0! + 0! + 0!)! = 6

This version supports two functions, Sqrt and Factorial.

The program does not guarantee finding the best solutions.

For best results, run the algorithm 2 or 3 times.
