This is a simple yet addictively fun puzzle game derived from a game called 2048. The game takes place on a 4x4 grid board with game tiles that you slide left-right or up-down to combine into new higher valued tiles. The original 2048 game starts with tiles numbered 2 which combine to form 4, then 8, then 16, .... up to 2048 (thus the name).

This version includes the classic numeric tiles but features new tiles based on evolving animals from a jellyfish up through simple mammals, chimps, humans to the ultimate goal of transcendence {existence beyond the physical world}.

Extinction-2048 adds two new challenges to the basic 2048 game: obstacles and extinctions. Obstacles are tiles which cannot move and cannot combine; they simply get in your way to increase the difficulty level (and points). Extinctions are animal combinations which result in a dead-end species which cannot combine to evolve to a higher level. When extinctions are enabled some tile combinations will randomly create a doomed species which will linger on the board for a few more turns before it disappears from play.
