The data is maintained and distributed by the FDIC, an independent agency of the U.S. government. It includes all banks that have failed since October 1, 2000 within the U.S. The data is updated on a weekly basis.Failed Bank Data Browser can be used offline, as the data is stored locally. However, to view the latest data it is recommended that you refresh the data periodically by clicking the Refresh Data button from the About pane.Failed Bank Data Browser is built using Xcode and various Apple technologies.
