This app is a one-stop shop for South Asian smallholder farmers, enabling them to: i) learn how to use basic internet to benefit from the knowledge economy ii) view & hear weather forecasts iii) watch videos on farming, family, education & life advice

There are ~115 million small farms in South Asia; that's 25% of all small farms worldwide. A big difference between a smallholder farmer in South Asia and one in Africa is the prevalence of bonded labor. South Asian smallholder farmers are either all victims of this modern-day practice of slavery, or are 'nouveau free'. Either way, their understanding of living an independent life, planning the future of their children, and taking meaningful charge of their destiny is largely crippled.

Such smallholders need help in ALL facets of life. These farmers must be taught how to use basic internet to open up basic intellectual horizons, given actionable advice on how to improve their professional and personal lives, afforded a sliver of entertainment, and provided the means to sell their produce without the exploitation from the ruthless middlemen known as "arthis" in South Asia.

With smartphone penetration and mobile internet becoming more and more prevalent in the region, our smartphone app can build farmer capacity like no technology in the region has been able to do before.
