Method of operation:

The application will overwrite the file once with random data. It is not necessary to overwrite multiple times on SSD. The "ghost tracks" from magnetic media simply do not exist on solid state storage. Even on modern magnetic media it is not a practical concern anymore because of enormous data densities.

Now, what is a practical concern, is that with some SSD drives, there exists transparent methods to balance the writes over the media, as to wear out the memory evenly. This might cause the disk to actually write the new replacement bytes to a different place than intended. Nevertheless the allocation table will still be scrambled, so that the original inode does not point to the old block anymore.

In spirit of keeping everyone happy, there will be some near future releases thought!

1. I will add settings so that you may choose from different patterns and number of iterations.

2. I will add an option to completely wipe all empty space on a drive.
