Florida’s state parks are open from 8:00 a.m. to sunset every day of the year. Museums, visitor centers and historic sites are closed two days a week and hours may vary. Call ahead to the park of your choice for more information. Created in 1935 by the Florida Legislature, Florida State parks has grown from eight to more than 160 parks over the last 75 years. State park units include natural reserves, recreation areas, and historic sites.
