FootGolf is a combination of two popular sports. Football (soccer) and Golf. The game is played with a regulation size 5 soccer ball on a golf course with shortened holes into a 53cm diameter cup. Similarly to Golf, the object of the game is to get the ball into the hole in the fewest possible number of kicks just like Golf.

FootGolf as a sport is regulated by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG).

The sport was invented in the Netherlands in 2009 and is rapidly expanding across the world with countries such as Netherlands, Argentina, United States, Hungary, Great Britain, Portugal, Italy, Mexico, Chile, Puerto Rico, Australia, Belgium, France, Spain, Norway, Panama and now South Africa.

FootGolf South Africa (FGSA) is the only exclusive member of the FIFG and recognised governing body for the sport of FootGolf in South Africa. The main objective of FGSA is to create structures, development and promote the sport of FootGolf within South Africa.
