Not only does it do the calculations for you but it also provides comprehensive explanations as to how it was done so that you can know the answer and also understand how it was arrived at. Some calculations are easy but others are not i.e. converting a recurring decimal into a fraction. You need to know how it is done and this App explains how step by step.

How to use:

To convert a decimal into a fraction type the decimal number (e.g 1.35) into the field to the left of the equals. As you make changes the explanation chances to show how it was calculated.

The answer is shown in the three fields to the right of the equals. A comprehensive explanation is also given below. If the number is recurring then select the red cross symbol to change it to a green tick and specify the number of recurring digits e.g. 1.35555555 (recurring) then select the tick and digits is 1 since it is the 5 that is recurring not the initial 3.

0.142857142857 with six digits recurring is 1/7 (specify recurring Yes and recurring digits 6)

In the final example the 6 recurring digits are specified twice but this does not matter to the App. The excess digits are carefully removed and the calculation done with 0.142857
