The FreeHAL project's mission is to develop an open source computer program which very closely imitates human conversation. FreeHAL consists of a server application and several frontends, a cross-platform GUI, a web interface and an Android App. It uses a semantic networks and technologies like pattern recognition, stemming, part of speech databases and Hidden Markov Models in order to imitate a human behaviour. While communicating by keyboard the program extends its database.
