Buchenwald Memorial Official Multimedia GuideIn 1937, the Nazis built the Buchenwald Concentration Camp near Weimar, the home of Weimar Classicism. When the Second World War ended in 1945, Buchenwald was the largest concentration camp in Germany, containing a total of 250,000 prisoners from all across Europe.
