The GeoVid app explores the concept of sensor-rich video tagging. Specifically, it records geo-referenced videos by collecting a continuous stream of extended geographic properties (for example the location, direction, date and time) together with the video. This sensor meta-data is utilized for storing, indexing and searching large collections of community-generated videos. Videos can be previewed on the app. However, for full use of the sensor data the videos can be uploaded to the GeoVid search portal either via Wi-Fi or 3G.
