Kids’ Gym Programme! 6 levels, 66 Skill cards, 1200 exercisesThe Gymnastics Federation of Flanders (Belgium) has developed a didactical and methodical programme for physical education teachers and trainers of recreation groups in gymnastics clubs. The programme was developed for children in the age group of 6 to 14 years (including 1 or 2 training sessions per week) and is composed of 5 movement themes. These constitute the basis of 66 movement skills (Skill cards), which are approached in 6 levels and comprise 1200 exercises (tracks, variations, progresses, …). The GymStars app allows effortless navigation through the various levels, as well as movement themes and exercises. It pays attention to the methodology of the basic movements of elementary apparatus gymnastics (floor, plinth, balance beam/parallel bars, asymmetrical bars/horizontal bar).Per Skil card, the tracks offer a large amount of preparatory exercise material allowing you to teach each movement. We start with the forward roll (level 1) and end with the forward somersault (level 6). The didactical tips are supplied to help the teacher training the basic elements, giving the necessary feedback and offering variations and remedial exercises.
