HVAC Answer is a database of real service calls and how they were handled. The information comes from real situations faced in the field and expert advice on how to handle the problem. Though the years span from 1988 to 2008, workers will encounter equipment from these year for decades into the future. Jim, my dad, who wrote the notes, worked as an HVAC installer in the St. Louis, MO area from 1957 to 1988. Then he took a job with a wholesaler and began sharing his experience. Not long after he started this position, he became requested on the phone by workers in the field who needed help. He then became the trouble shooting specialist for this company. Calls started coming in from outside the area of the wholesaler branch. HVAC workers from all over Missouri began calling. Then workers from Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, and other states began to call. With each call and follow-up calls, his experience grew and he continued to share in order to help. In a way, this whole project is a tribute to my dad. Hope his notes serve you well and help you figure out how to solve the problem.
