Happy Paws Happy Hearts was established to create positive social experiences between people and animals

Paws in need

Each year, tens of thousands of RSPCA animals spend time waiting to be adopted from a centre. They are provided with essential veterinary care and love from dedicated volunteers however it can be difficult to find enough volunteers and visitors to give these animals the extra bit of love they need to feel safe and secure.

Hearts in need

Many Australians are feel isolated or lonely due to a number of circumstances. These circumstances may be age, mobility, mental health or purely situational. We’ve found that Happy Paws Happy Hearts helps tremendously in giving people an increased sense of purpose and benefit greatly from each session with us.

Happy Paws & Happy Hearts

Our caring volunteers open the doors to the RSPCA and facilitate half-day visits for groups ranging between 6 and 20.

During each visit the group spends hours caring for and playing with puppies, dogs, cats and kittens. We even have visits from the occasional baby possum, tiny wallaby and plenty of other native wildlife!

It is beautiful to see and we’ve had the most wonderful experience watching everyone as they come out of their shells and share stories, experiences and tell jokes. Happy Paws Happy Hearts sessions are filled with positive experiences and life enriching interactions between people and animals.
