While I was working as a facilitator for Grieving Children I realized how limited the material was on helping children go through the grieving process. Consequently I wrote this book. The story is true and the races horses are real. Luck Ahead was our first race horse and she lived to be 24. She had many babies that had babies of their own. This story tells about all the happy memories she left behind. How to be a race horse, about some of her most exciting races and about watching her babies grow. Children can be sad but they should remember the happy times and be glad of all the wonderful memories. Luck Ahead’s babies had a lot of happy memories.Many of the pages have an optional “Paint Me” feature for children to finger paint the pages and create their own custom version of the book.
