In May 2013 the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released information about how more than 3,000 hospitals charge for the 100 most frequently billed discharges. Hospital Charge Explorer(HCE) allows you to easily explore this data.With HCE you can review what the various hospitals in a given area have charged the government for common in-patient procedures and how the government has reimbursed them for these procedures(typically lower than what was billed or charged).HCE will show you which hospitals charge the least in a given state and the country as a measure to compare against the hospitals in the selected area.Please note that HCE only contains data for US hospitals.
