The Hymany Way, one of a series of 11 sections of the greater Beara Breifne Way, goes in a northerly direction on the western side of the Shannon.
There is an opportunity to visit Portumna Castle, Clonfert Cathedral, Meelick Abbey and the site of the battle of Aughrim, where the fiercest fight ever fought in Irelands history took place in 1691.The Hymany Way explores areas rich in Biodiversity such as the Shannon Callows which are famous for birdlife.
