Professor Pierre Arronax is invited on an expedition to find and kill the monster that has been terrorizing ships. To his misfortune their ship is sunk by the creature, which turns out to be no creature at all, but a wondrous underwater craft called the Nautilus. Its owner, the enigmatic Captain Nemo, saves Pierre and his assistant, along with harpooner off their now sunken whaling ship.

Together they travel under the waves, having strange and amazing adventures such as finding the drowned city of Atlantis and fighting off giant squids. But will our heroes escape the clutches of the strange Captain and his mechanical monster of the deep?
