Through the uncertainty and distress that can come with being critically ill, it can be a great relief to know what to expect or that what you're experiencing is normal for someone in your position.Written in plain English, the guide gives an introduction to critical care. It lets patients and relatives know of some of the physical and psychological issues that patients may face in their recovery and where they can turn if they need help.The guide also has the endorsement of the Department of Health and is used by over 40% of intensive care units in the UK.
