Go back in history over 400 years (1607 AD) to the 1st British Colony in America, Virginia when the 1st system for the Institution of Indentured Servitude was installed in the New World. From our formative years, we all learned that these Indentured Servants came from different parts of Europe to settle in the New World; but little did we know this was the 1st European Slave Colony in Virginia that lasted for 12 years. How do we know? Because 12 years later, in 1619, a 12 page document considered to be the Survivors' "Proclamation of Freedom" (Emancipation Proclamation if you will) has been revealed, which makes this document to-date, 397 years old.
