Now you can trace the device from the Informer webpage! Go to either www.tracemydroid.com or www.informer.no and register your device!

With Informer you can easily get the whereabouts of your dear Android phone whenever you've lost it or someone has stolen it or if you have misplaced it beneath a pillow or similar...

Quick user manual:

Upon entering the app, you will only see hardware and software specifications for your phone.

But if you press VOL UP 3 times you'll enter a secret settings menu where you can configure how the application should react on incoming SMS.

How to use the SMS part:

Just be sure to send an SMS from the number you saved together with the text you also saved in the secret settings menu.

Upon receiving an SMS from the specific number with the specific text, the app will secretly reply the SMS with latitude and longitude information together with the address if it can find it.

Note that the sent SMS is NOT saved on either the phone or the sim card. It has been done like this in order to prevent the thief from seeing that he/she is being watched.

You can also configure the incoming text value which make the phone play an included soundfile.

This can be neat to have if you know you've misplaced your phone ;)

Frenzy mode has also been added now. When Frenzy mode is enabled in settings, it doesn't matter which number sends an sms command. As long as the content of the sms is equal to the text in settings, the corresponding command will be executed.

This setting could be nice to have if the number saved in the settings is out of your reach ;)

WARNING:

Sadly, it seems like the developers of other SMS apps have given their app the highest priority.

If you have such apps installed, be sure to uninstall the app and then reinstall it AFTER installing Informer.
