TAKE A WALK THROUGH ITALIAN ART IN LOS ANGELES

This project turns the IIC publication and website ITALY ART LA into a geo-tagged system that manages an interactive exploration of Italian Art and Italian Heritage in Los Angeles.

I n the system you also find four media enriched tours crafted to create an engaging experience:

L.A. ITALIAN HERITAGE

The madness and genius of the Watts Towers’ creator, Sabato Rodia, the business sense and generosity 'of the most beautiful woman’ in Los Angeles, Arcadia Bandini, and the talent of Rudolph Valentino. These are only some of the elements that define the unique nature Italian immigration in this city.

PASADENA: AN ITALIAN JOURNEY

This journey will take place between the real and the virtual on a trail of discovery through Italian art in Pasadena. Including: St. Andrew Church, City Hall, Huntington Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens and the Norton Simon Museum.

FROM LIGHT TO MATERIALITY

This tour takes the user to the most prestigious Italian Art in town, including visits to the Getty Villa, the Getty Center, UCLA, and the Italian Cultural Institute.

TRACES OF ITALY

Focusing on works of art off the beaten path and materials that contribute to stunning architecture and sculpture in Downtown LA, this tour reveals hidden traces of the Italian presence in the city.
