Test your quick thinking and word puzzle skills with Jargon! Jargon is an addictive word game with fun game modes testing your knowledge of language. Use strategic guesses to figure out words in as few attempts as possible to rack up big points.

Jargon will pull you in for quick fun game play and keep your gears turning!

Based on the game Lingo from GSN, but built for a single user experience with varied re-playable game modes.

How To Play:

There are 5 different addictive game modes! Try to beat your high scores in each mode with 3 different difficulties. First select a game mode: Classic, Word Blitz, Three Lives, Time Bonus, or Free Play. Then pick your skill level with a dictionary of thousands of words with four, five, or six letters. You have five guesses to figure out a randomly generated word with the first letter provided. After you've filled in all the letters for your guess, each will change color to tell you how you did. A blue box indicates you have the letter correct. A gray box with yellow border means you have the letter right but in the wrong spot. A red box means that letter does not appear in the word. A gray background with red border for the entire word indicates that your word does not appear in the Jargon dictionary (probably not a real word!). No points or letter hints are received for entering an invalid word. An orange border highlights your current typing position and letters you have found correct appear faintly on the current line. Experiment with different letters in different positions, even type over the first provided letter to find letters that appear elsewhere. A good letter strategy can get you to the answer faster!

Stumped? Use a bonus letter (but you only have three!). A random letter you have not already found in the correct spot will appear! Use it, or type over it and remember for later. Each letter you've found in the correct place is shown lightly on your next guess to remind you where they go.

If you get a word right on the first attempt, that's 500 points! 400 points for the second attempt, and so on. If you don't get a word right on an attempt, you get 10 points for letters correct and 5 points for letters right but in the wrong position.

Classic Mode:

You have four minutes to score as many points as possible! Don't worry if you don't get a word in each of your five attempts, move on to the next and use your time wisely.

Word Blitz:

Each word you receive comes with a 45 second timer! If you get a word wrong, the game is over. Use your bonus letters well and get words right quickly to keep going and going!

Three Lives:

No time limits! Instead you have 3 lives. Each word wrong after five attempts loses a life. Pause and think to keep the points coming.

Time Bonus:

Classic mode with a twist. A word right on the first try is 50 extra seconds on the clock! 40 for the second guess and so on. Get words right early and often and keep bringing in the points!

NOTE: The keyboard allows for dragging once pressed. A popup shows what letter you've selected. If you happen to hit the wrong letter, slide to the one you intended for quick fixes without having to hit delete.

If a word you enter is deemed not a word and you think it should be, feel free to email with the word or list of words you think should be added to the dictionary.
